About Lisa

I was born as a fourth generation Monterey Bay girl. I was raised in Santa Cruz, and now reside in Salinas, CA. I should have realized sooner that I was a born photographer, because no matter where I traveled, I brought my albums and camera with me.  I have been around the world, and yet I found the greatest place to shoot… home.

I am known for my black and white, and candid photos! I have an eye for portraits, yet I don’t aim for them, they tend to naturally occur. I love having fun with my clients! My passion is shooting without you knowing that I am there. Vacations, birthday parties, backstage, and so much more I enjoy capturing with my lens. 

I went to school at Hartnell College under Eric Bosler, who was one of the greatest photographers on the central coast. Under his tutelage, I had two gallery openings and was able to launch a successful private business. My first years of photography were spent in a dark room, working with the film personally and developing photos the old-fashioned way. In total, I studied the art of photography for four years, however my experience, obviously, has lasted much longer. 

I took a break from my photography business to raise my child. As a single parent, I chose to focus on making sure my kid grew up happy, healthy, and kind, and I believe that I needed to be there in order for that to happen. Now that he is 18 and grown up, I can return to my passion and begin capturing memories for so many other families.
