“Rising Pride“

To Whom It May Concern: This is the basic concept of the gallery opening. There will be a lot more, but it is an organic project with a lot of moving parts. I am able to start shooting soon and would love to be able to secure at least a few people or couples who are willing to share their story, whether it is a negative or positive their story and should be represented. I am a local professional photographer who is looking to recruit models who are willing to lend their images for a gallery opening. This presentation will hopefully bring a sense of inclusivity to those who might be allies, as well as those who might be close minded.

This experience will not only be a celebration, but also representation. From the ancient times of the Egyptian all the way to the current administration. My, how times have changed. Where once it truly was a celebration, under our plague of Trump, not so much. From the military to bathrooms, this is one of the most ill-represented and disqualified section of our fellow human beings.

I want to not just celebrate, but possibly change a few minds along the way. The beginning of the show will feature a very dapper man holding a rainbow umbrella.These will be large scale portraits, black and white. However, one aspect will be in color. For example, eyes, tattoos, body paint, etc. This will tie in the rainbow theme. I do not want any names involved, instead I would love a short paragraph describing your life experiences.

For those who would rather have their images not portrayed, a quote, will be wonderful. For these are going to be in between the large photographs. Under no circumstances will this be an exploitation. There will be no charge for this shoot, but instead you will get on a zip drive the whole photo shoot to print whatever images you want. They are yours to do with what you want to do.

Please help me with this contribution. I will be eternally grateful. This is for a class at Hartnell College, in which I need to build my portfolio in order to secure a gallery opening.

This is a project built with a purpose. My now son is transgender, so this is literally a project close to my heart. I genuinely hope that you will help by lending your image and/or a short biography. Yet, if you are not comfortable, you can participate in this project anonymously.
